MEET PHIL
As the founder and owner of Land Surveys Inc, Phil brings a wealth of experience grounded in a Bachelor of Science in Geomatics. With an expansive background that ranges from residential to commercial land surveying, as well as floodplain issues, Phil's passion extends beyond measurements and maps. At the heart of his business model is the essence of building lasting relationships. Outside the professional realm, Phil is an avid cook, a pickleball enthusiast, and cherishes moments spent with family. Deeply rooted in his local church, Phil's dedication to serving others is evident not only in business but also in uplifting the community.
MEET KELLY
For nearly ten years, Kelly has taught English at the high school and college levels. She has published articles with Milwaukee Magazine, a non-fiction book titled The Mental Road to the Major Leagues, and a novel. Currently, she splits time between taking care of her two boys and managing the office for Land Surveys Inc.
Kelly is a native of Milwaukee but got a taste of the South when she moved to Louisiana with Phil in 2012. Some of her favorite aspects of Louisiana were king cakes, seafood, and not being cold in the winter. The most exciting thing about moving back to Wisconsin was being able to cheer for the Brewers again at Miller Park.
In her free time, Kelly enjoys reading and writing creatively. Her favorite authors are C. S. Lewis and Ernest Hemingway.
MEET DAN
Holding a senior management position, Dan has over twenty years of experience as a licensed professional surveyor in southeastern Wisconsin. He has served as a leader both professionally and personally, his roles ranging from President of the Society of Southeastern Wisconsin Land Surveyors to youth coach to church volunteer. At Land Surveys Inc, Dan manages residential projects from start to finish, coordinating field work and drafting, as well as reviewing the accuracy of all results. A Wisconsin native, Dan earned a bachelor’s in geography from UW-Whitewater, adding an associate’s in civil engineering technology from Milwaukee Area Technical College in 2002. He and his wife Paula, along with daughter Kyra and son Henry, enjoy camping, hiking, and vacationing on the Atlantic Gulf.
MEET TOM
Licensed as a professional surveyor with the state of Wisconsin since 1991, Tom brings more than forty years of experience to Land Surveys Inc. as both a surveyor and CAD technician. Tom’s career began in Mesa, Arizona where he worked for nearly eight years on projects ranging from construction staking, road construction, and golf courses to name a few. After the birth of their third child, Tom and his wife Jan decided to return to their Wisconsin home, where Tom continued his career as a survey manager. In 2003, he successfully launched his own surveying company, which serviced customers in the Fond du Lac, Dodge, and Washington County areas. Through this range of experience, Tom brings both strategic and technical skills to the staff at Land Surveys Inc.
When he’s not surveying or drafting, Tom enjoys building model trains, completing projects around the home, hiking, and spending time with his family.
MEET BRENT
Brent started his surveying career with Land Surveys Inc. in 2022, and has been gaining a variety of drafting and field experience under Phil’s mentorship. Simultaneously, he is earning a technical diploma in surveying and mapping from Milwaukee Area Technical College. Hard working and goal-oriented, Brent intends to earn his professional surveying license when he is eligible. Customers regularly describe Brent as personable, professional, and capable. Brent and his wife Carrie live in Colgate with their children, Waylon (6) and Lilah (3). In his spare time, He enjoys woodworking projects, auto mechanics, and a good game of Mario Cart.
MEET JOE
Throughout his career, Joe has gained experience both in the office and out in the field. At Land Surveys Inc, Joe plays an important role in producing quality, accurate survey plats and providing overall support to our office staff. He holds associates degrees in civil engineering technologies (Milwaukee Area Technical College) and in architectural drafting (Waukesha Area Technical College). Joe and his wife Katie make their home in Oconomowoc with their two boys, Sawyer (9) and Eli (13). In his free time, Joe shares his love of the outdoors with youth as a Cub Scout leader. When he’s not leading a nature hike or organizing a park clean up, he can be found watching a Brewers’ game or spending time with his family at home.
